INFLUENSTER: RIMMEL SHADES OF BLACK VOXBOX

Hey guys hope you had a great weekend! Today's post is a review on some beauty products I received in my voxbox complimentary from Influenster. If you haven't heard of Influenster before, its a great program that sends out boxes (known as a Voxbox) full of full-sized skincare, makeup and even food products (to list a few) for bloggers to review and keep, all for free!

I was lucky this month to receive Rimmel's latest collaboration with Rita Ora, Shades of Black; in my Voxbox were three dark shades of nail polishes, along with three bold lip glosses and a mascara.

901 Darkest Desires                              903 Midnight Ting                                 906 Matte Black

I am super impressed with all three of these nail polishes. The applicator is wide enough to provide great coverage without being gloopy. They dry very quickly indeed and I didn't have to worry about smudging at all.  My favourite out of the three has to be 906 Matte Black which applied shiny but dried matte and only needed one coat. 901 Darkest Desires is a deep red-black and 903 Midnight Ting is a dark purple-black, I would recommend applying two coats for a flawless finish. I have no complaints with these polishes they are perfect for fall and great quality for £2.99!

OH MY GLOSS! Shade 810 Desire                                                                OH MY GLOSS! Shade 820 Moonlight

It wasn't until I received this collection that I realised that I haven't used lip gloss in a really long time! I am a matte lipstick fan! Given the timing of the release I think this collection is targeted for halloween, but I am not a halloween type of girl all I know is glam! So I created three different looks around the glosses with a gothic aesthetic and I am really proud of each look!

The lip gloss range includes Rita's Black, a unique blue shade called Moonlight and a vampy/autumnal red shade named Desire (perfect for everyday use). The glosses are not sticky at all, however when worn on their own the pigments are quite opaque and the product looks quite streaky on the lips. I recommend using a lipstick/liner all over the lips and then applying the glosses like toppers, they really do make the lipsticks pop with a gorgeous sheen to the lips.

rimmel wonder'fully real mascara

I'm already a fan of Rimmel mascara, my favourite of all time being Scandaleyes Reloaded Black Mascara, which is a staple in my everyday makeup routine. However while I liked the pink and black packaging of the Wonder'fully Real Mascara I have mixed views on the product. It does create volume and darkens the lashes but unfortunately it also makes them clump together too.

I used the mascara in all three makeup looks, above, and as you can see it creates a soft definition to the lashes.

Normally, I like to build my lashes up with layers of mascara but this is something I would definitely avoid doing with Wonder'fully, the formula is too thick for this, and I think the wands bristles are just to short to create the separation and length effect on my lashes that I am used to.

However the wand is worth keeping to use on your bottom lashes, although I did notice that product builds up at the very top of the wand, so wipe of excess before applying to avoid getting mascara on your face.

Thank you to Influenster for picking me to receive the Rimmel Shades of Black VoxBox, it was really exciting to review these products and create the make up looks above. It really surprised me how much I love the blue lipgloss look!

BURGUNDY FOR FALL

Shop the post:

Primark Roll Neck (similar HERE) | Primark Faux Leather Mini Skirt (similar HERE) | Mango Faux Leather Jacket | Public Desire Over the knee Boots (similar HERE) | H&M Baker Boy Hat | ASOS Tiered Tassel Earrings

Happy Mondaaaaaay! Today I have an outfit post for you featuring one of my favourite purchases this year from Primark, a faux leather mini skirt in a rich wine/burgundy colour. This all burgundy look was inspired by blogger Aimee Song's NYFW look, last month I was so into her fashion week vlogs in New York & Paris, and there wasn't a look of hers that I didn't fall in love with, she really inspired me to try out this monochromatic look.

The turtleneck is also from Primark and its rich tone works so well with the skirt and is an exact colour match for the H&M Baker Boy hat, I'm wearing a size M,56. The skirt was £8 and the turtleneck was £6, which I think is genuinely amazing considering they look way more expensive than that. I have linked some alternatives throughout the post as unfortunately Primark clothing is only available instore...they really need to work on that. On top goes my biker jacket from Mango and finally the boots, you guys would've seen these before, an old sale purchase from Public Desire. People seem to find over the knee boots quite intimidating but for me they're so comfortable as the heel is wedge and not too high and they just hug my legs so perfectly, I always enjoy wearing them and need them in more colours!

If you follow me on instagram you would've seen that I have been wearing a soft orange eyeshadow look in most of my posts. I've been really pushing myself to experiment more and try new things with makeup and hair but I will share more about that in an upcoming post.

Let me know what you think of this LOOK!
