INSIDE MY MAKEUP BAG

When did you start wearing makeup? I was 16 - shoutout to baby Lavinya :) I remember my makeup kit comprised of a bronzing powder, clear mascara and clear lipgloss, it was all my Mum would allow! As time went on, and brands became more inclusive, my love for makeup grew and grew. I loved wearing eyeliner, playing around with colourful eyeshadows and red blusher. Between me and you there was a time when I lived by the mantra "the more blusher the better" - let me tell you it was anything but! Somewhere in the deep recess of a forgotten photo album is visual evidence of me on a night out with the brightest red cheeks a club has ever seen! I can't even believe I ever thought that was ok lol! To be fair I do remember on several occasions my mum telling me it probably needed toning down, but would I listen? - nope LOL!
I'd like to think that I have since mastered my makeup tekkers lol, and while I do still love a blush moment, my makeup is more refined and complimentary to my features. So I thought i would share the products I always reach for when getting ready for the day...

Rimmel Natural Bronzer in shade Sun Bronze 002  - Now this is an OG product of my makeup collection. This was the bronzing powder my mum bought me at 16 and has become a holy grail in my routine. Though its a bronzing powder, my use of it goes against all makeup rules as I apply it as a base for the rest of my makeup - with a fluffy face brush I sweep it onto my lower parts of my face (always leaving the areas around my eyes untouched) and lightly across my forehead, and thats it. I find it helps even out my complexion while giving it a healthy glow and its never been a problem for me to layer other products.

Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil in Black Brown  - Next is brows and one of my favourite steps in my makeup routine. Leaving the house without brows is not an option! People often assume I conceal under by brows to define them...but I dont. Everything is shaped, filled in and carved to perfection using this brow pencil alone. It's literally just the best and proof that tools dont need to be complicated to get the job done.

I've been trying out a new concealer for a few months and seeing as I've repurchased it several times I'd say it has become a firm favourite in my routine -  e.l.f Hydrating Camo Concealer in Medium Sand  - its medium to full coverage and yet so lightweight on the skin, especially under my eyes. I love how hydrating the formula is plus so creamy and brightening and conceals those bad boy eye bags. Yes gworls its giving exactly what its suppose to give! ...and a little goes a long way. This concealer 🤝 Revolution Baking Powder in Banana  = no creasing. It's a winning combo.

Boujours Little Round Pot Blusher 92 Santal  - Discovering this blusher is both a blessing and a curse. I've had this in my rotation since my Uni days and always got compliments. This shade of reddish orange with flecks of gold highlight, is super pretty! But recently when I went to re-purchase it the assistants told me its been discontinued since 2019!!! Like wut! Now I use this blusher everyday and I dont know when I last bought it but seeing as its discontinued in 2019 and in 2022 I'm only just now looking to re-buy it should give you some indication on how long lasting this product actually is! Honestly when this pot finishes I dont know what I'm going to do :(

Living in a world that asks you to pay £20+ for a lipliner is not sustainable, at least not for me, so when I tell you dont walk, RUN!💨, save your coint and get this bargain I'm not lying.  Barry M Lip Liner in Chocolate - this is the MAC Chestnut dupe you've been looking for and you will not be disappointed. I cannot rave about this lip liner enough. It's the perfect rich brown colour that glides onto the lips and pairs nicely with red or nude lipstick. *chefs kiss*

Lancome Lash Idole Volumnising Mascara - You can find some great mascara's at affordable prices, but sometimes it really is worth splurging just a little once in a while. Now I know I said "save your coint" when it came to the lip liner but I feel like I run through lip liners considerably faster than a mascara. At least with mascara it feels like your getting your moneys worth and let me tell you Lancome did a thing when it came to Lash Idole. That wand will lift and seperate your lashes with ease and the more your build on it the more fluttery and long they will look. On me it makes my lashes look like I'm wearing falsies and that is not an easy thing to do!
