Hey lovelies, how have you all been!? Today's post is a review on the 'renewing' Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner by Organix. I have heard a lot about Moroccan Argan Oil and seen the hype and hoard of reviews on YouTube on how beneficial it is for your hair, so when I saw the Organix range in Boots it was the perfect opportunity, especially when I saw that they are SULFATE FREE (benefits explained later in post).
I purchased the Shampoo and Conditioner from the range, but there is also a Renewing Treatment and Penetrating Oil that are also part of the collection. As I was not sure whether I would like the products I purchased the travel sizes (88.7ml) of just the shampoo and conditioner.
But after using them, I LOVE THEM!!
Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
"Why Moroccan Argan Oil, what are the benefits?"
Argan oil is a rare and natural oil found in Morocco very rich in vitamins F and E (power antioxidant), which restore, soften and strengthen hairs elasticity, it also defends against premature aging and UV exposure, hence its popular use for skin, hair and nails.
Organix say, "[Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo/Conditioner] is a unique, precious blend of Moroccan argan oil which helps to instantly penetrate the hair shaft restoring shine and softness while helping to strengthen and create soft, seductive, silky protection."
Well I found the products to do just that, the shampoo is very thick, almost jelly-like, it kept falling out my hands, very different consistency to other shampoos I have used in the past but it smells great. It is not a lathering type of shampoo, due to the lack of sulfate, however I was able to work it into my hair and my hair instantly felt fuller and volumized, but when I rinsed it out it did leave my hair feeling squeaky clean. I was not sure whether I liked that but I decided to continue onto the conditioner before I made up my mind.
The conditioner smells just as great as the shampoo and its luxurious texture made it easy to apply to my hair, it says leave on for 3-5mins but I am a fan of leaving on conditioners for much longer to really get it to work. I was able to comb it through my hair with ease and after rinsing it out and towel drying, my hair felt soft and moisturized.
PROS
- Sulfate and Paraben free - irritant substances that damage hair, cause itchy, dry scalp & irritate eyes.
- Smells gorgeous.
- Absorbs great into hair and easy to apply.
- Conditioner leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and shiny.
- Safe for coloured hair.
- Unique packaging shape and pretty turquoise/gold colours.
CONS
- 'Squeaky clean' feeling with shampoo.
- Not cheap but great value for money (in my opinion).
Verdict: 8/10
This is purely down to the 'squeaky clean' feeling after washing with the shampoo and not being able to use the penetrating oil.
Price: £6.99
Where to Buy: Boots
Would I buy it again?: YES
I am really happy and impressed with this product, my hair felt great after blow drying and definitely felt revived and fuller after use. It is a shame I did not purchase the penetrating oil, which is known to accentuate the properties of the conditioner, I will definitely be going back to buy it!!
There are other products available from the Organix Hair Range including Brazilian Keratin Therapy, Coconut Milk and Cherry Blossom which have also received rave reviews and are also available at Boots.
Have you tried any products from Organix?
lots of love, Lavvy xx
